Tropical Storm Talas On Path to Japan

Tropical Storm Talas is heading for the island of Honshu in Japan and will slowly intensify as it tracks over warm water. Although Talas is not expected to reach tropical cyclone strength before landfall, and the mountainous terrain of mainland Japan should cause Talas to weaken considerably, heavy downpours, flash floods and landslides will be imminent threats to lives and property as it comes ashore Friday September 2.
