5.7 quake strikes SW Pakistan

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit southwest Pakistan early on Wednesday, the US geological service reports. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 8.3 kilometers and its epicenter was 147 kilometers southwest of Dalbandin.

There was no word on the victims or destruction. A massive earthquake rocked north Pakistan in October 2005, killing more than 80,000 people. Since then, underground tremors trigger severe panic in quake-affected areas.
